Dear colleagues,

Our nation remembers the tragic events of September 11, 2001. As chaplains in the fire service we are often asked to participate in 9/11 services. The New York State Association of Fire Chaplains, Inc. sends the attached files and the resources listed below in hopes of serving the members of our association.

In preparing for the 911 Services, here are some resources that we have found helpful:

Director Ruston sent the following resources:

This includes a hymn specifically written in remembrance of 9/11, an Intercessory Prayer and an Anniversary Prayer

“The Text This Week” – provides lectionary resources to remember the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 on 9/11/01, which was also a Sunday. There are readings, sermons and many other resources.

Past Chief Chaplain Van Houten sent the first attached file (“Walden Service 2015 Boat Rescue”)

Director Emeritus Lundy sent the second attached file (“911 Memorial by Chaplain Lundy”).

Over the years Chief Chaplain VanWie has used the next three files (“Welcome to 911 Service”, “September 11 Timeline and Casualties” and “Striking the Four Fives”)

The next file is from Chief Billy Goldfeder and discusses the lingering effects of 9/11 based on a New York Post article (“911 Lingering Effects from The Secret List”).
